Overview The Host/Server Assistant role is a multifaceted position that combines all aspects of restaurant support. This role focuses on providing consistently high levels of customer service to all restaurant guests through prompt service, accurate delivery of food and beverages, and efficient table and bar maintenance.
Responsibilities Greet guests upon entry and guide them to appropriate dining or gaming areas.
Receive and record guest reservations, assign tables, and escort guests to seating areas.
Maintain familiarity with all menu items, promotions, and entertainment options.
Deliver food and beverages to guests at the correct temperature, ensuring presentation and completeness of orders.
Provide condiments, utensils, and other items upon guest request.
Collaborate with dishwashers to ensure a continual supply of clean plates and flatware.
Manage liquor, glassware, and ice supplies at the bar and support bar staff and managers with inventory and kegs.
Maintain cleanliness of dining room, bar, amusement floor, and shed area, following hygiene requirements.
Change table linens and ensure proper handling of dirty or damaged linen.
Assist wait staff, bar staff, and kitchen staff as needed, including washing dishes during busy periods.
Arrange tables for large parties and prepare banquet spaces for scheduled gatherings.
Respond to guest complaints and ensure satisfaction with food and service.
Monitor food distribution to ensure simultaneous arrival of all dishes at a table.
Return food or drink items for corrections and deliver newly prepared items to guests.
Fill water glasses and manage refillable drinks.




Support other duties as assigned to uphold guest service standards.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED required.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
1–3 years of experience as a Server Assistant, Host, Runner, Barback, Busser, or in a similar capacity is an asset.
Robust customer service, troubleshooting, conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work well under pressure and in a high‑paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and professionalism in appearance and manners.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills suited to a diverse work environment.
Strong work ethic, positive team attitude, and a commitment to exceptional guest experience.
Work Conditions • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
• May lift or move up to 50 lbs.
• Fast‑paced, demanding environment with extended hours as required.
