Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards, as well as maintenance and use of equipment.
Anticipating guests’ needs; acknowledging and responding promptly to all guest requests.
Setting up tables for each event as stated in Banquet Event Order.
Serving plated meals.
Replenishing buffet items to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
Monitoring tableware to ensure it is polished and presentable.
Clearing food and drinks from tables.
Cleaning up after events.
Bartending efficiently and accurately to large groups.
Maintaining complete knowledge of all menu items, preparation method, ingredients, sauces; communicating allergies and dietary restrictions to the Banquet management team.
Performing all other duties, as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Must be able to perform job functions with speed and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize, organize and follow directions thoroughly.
Must be a transparent thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
Must be highly motivated and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and work cohesively with co-workers as part of a energetic team.
Must display excellent attention to detail and has a proven ability to work under minimal supervision during high volume situations.
Serving It Right certification.
Food Safe Level 1 considered an asset.
Ability to lift trays that may weigh up to 11.5 kilograms (25 pounds).
Previous food service experience required.
Knowledge of function preparation and room set-ups considered a robust asset
Must be available to work more than 20 hours/week; flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
