SHW AG is the global leader in the production of CO2-optimised pumps, engine components for all kinds of powertrains and high-performance brake discs used by the international automobile industry and the truck and off-highway segment, such as in agricultural machines, construction machines, stationary engines and wind turbines.
To strengthen our team at our Brampton, Ontario location, we are looking for a Logistics Planner.
:
- Plan and coordinate inbound and outboundshipments to ensure on-time delivery while meeting customer and productionrequirements.
- Develop and maintain transportation schedules,optimizing freight costs, delivery performance, and resource utilization.
- Coordinate daily with suppliers, carriers,customers, production, warehouse, and customer service teams to ensureefficient material flow.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate withMaterial Planning to prevent shortages and excess inventory.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including billsof lading, customs documents, packing slips, and delivery schedules.
- Track shipments, investigate delivery issues,and implement corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
- Analyze logistics performance using keyperformance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, transportation costs,inventory accuracy, and freight utilization.
- Maintain accurate logistics data andtransportation records within SAP or other ERP systems.
- Support production planning by ensuringmaterials and finished goods are available and shipped according to schedule.
- Coordinate warehouse activities related toreceiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping operations.
- Collaborate with carriers and third-partylogistics providers (3PLs) to ensure service levels, cost targets, andcontractual requirements are met.
- Participate in continuous improvementinitiatives to optimize transportation routes, warehouse processes, and overallsupply chain efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies,customer requirements, and applicable transportation, customs, and safetyregulations.
- Support new product launches, engineeringchanges, and end-of-production activities by coordinating logisticsrequirements.
- Prepare weekly and monthly logistics reports,including shipment status, inventory performance, freight costs, and supplierdelivery metrics.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventoryreconciliation, and root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by thesupervisor or their designate.
Job Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Supply ChainManagement, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or anequivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics,supply chain, transportation coordination, inventory planning, or amanufacturing environment.
- Experience working with SAP or another ERPsystem; SAP experience is considered a strong asset.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and timemanagement skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonalskills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, carriers,customers, and internal departments.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skillswith the ability to identify and resolve logistics and supply chain issues.
- Knowledge of transportation, shippingdocumentation, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularlyExcel, for reporting and data analysis.
- Ability to work independently while contributingeffectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail with a structured andaccurate approach to work.
