Job Overview Position: Culinary Team Member (Temporary Permanent Part‑time). Location: Trillium Court Home, Kincardine, ON. Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Tuesday, Friday, and every other weekend. Employment is expected through February 2027.
Responsibilities Serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences.
Observe time limits for meal serving and maintain food at proper serving temperature.
Assist cooks in cleaning and preparing uncooked foods such as salads, vegetables, and fruits.
Follow basic instructions for preparing simple foods such as breakfast items, basic desserts, and garnishes.
Clear plates and trays, load and operate the dishwasher.
Clean pots, pans, and cooking utensils as per procedure.
Participate in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.
Adhere to departmental policies regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control.
Assemble nourishment carts and stock unit kitchenettes.
Participate in facility meetings and attend in‑service education programs.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications High School Diploma or higher.



Academic certification or degree in nutrition or a food service program is an asset.
Previous dietary skills, knowledge, and experience in institutional, health‑care, restaurant, or hospitality food service settings is an asset.
Ability to read, write, and understand simple verbal and written English instructions.
Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
Requirements Must meet the physical requirements of the position: standing for long periods, moderate to heavy lifting, fast‑paced workplace.
Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Must provide a complete and current (within three months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, or be willing to obtain one.
