WHO WE ARE
La Fédération des coopératives duNouveau-Québec is owned by its fourteen member co-ops in the Inuit communities of Nunavik. FCNQ was established in 1967 to provide the rapidly growing cooperative movement with more effective powers and services to help attain its vision “Atautsikut” Together – working to develop as a people, leaving none behind.

SUMMARY
Reporting to the Communications Department, the Written Media and Communications technician supports the development and delivery of the Federation’s communications activities. The incumbent contributes to content creation for Kanguq magazine, manages social media content, and helps promote the achievements, stories and culture of Nunavik’s cooperatives and communities. The role also provides support for events and corporate activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Development and Communications

Write and produce content for Kanguq magazine, social media platforms, the website, newsletters and other corporate communications.

Research, gather and organize information required for articles and feature stories.

Conduct interviews with cooperative representatives, members and partners as required.

Write feature articles, profiles, press releases, web content, newsletters and other corporate communications materials.

Collaborate with external vendors, including graphic designers, production providers and printers, as required.

Social Media & Digital Communications

Contribute to the development and implementation of content calendars.





Create and publish content on social media platforms, primarily Facebook and Instagram.

Monitor interactions and respond to questions and comments in accordance with established guidelines.

Develop and write communications related to significant dates and events for Inuit communities and Nunavik cooperatives.

Coordinate the development of commemorative, corporate and cultural messages.

Contribute to highlighting the stories, achievements and initiatives of member cooperatives.

Events

Support the planning, coordination and logistics of training activities, educational initiatives and corporate events.

Assist in the preparation of promotional materials and event-related communications.

Represent the organization at events when required.

Profil

Post-secondary education in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field, or high school diploma with relevant experience;

One (1) to three (3) years of experience in communications, content creation or media-related roles.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Inuktitut and English. Knowledge of French is considered an asset.

Strong writing and storytelling abilities.

Proficiency with social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Instagram.

Robust organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
