Service Responsibilities Resident Food Service – take and record temperatures, set tables, plate meals, serve meals, offer choices, portion desserts, prepare foods, review menu, and prepare production sheets.
Sanitation & Safety – report concerns, ensure proper storage and rotation, label foods, clean tables and trays, collect and wash dishes, sanitize food‑prep areas, clean equipment, operate dish machine, maintain locked doors, and wear appropriate uniform and safety gear.
General – attend staff meetings and in‑service trainings, perform duties safely in line with Institute policies, cover absent staff, and perform other duties as required.
Organizational Responsibilities Develop an understanding of The Salvation Army’s Mission and its implications to the role.
Maintain confidentiality, serve as a professional team member, and represent the organization positively.
Participate in supervision, performance appraisal, and ongoing professional development.
Work in compliance with the OH&S; Act, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications Grade12 education.
Completed or enrolled in the Healthcare Food Service Certificate Program (or equivalent)



and Protected Food Handlers Certification.
Minimum 2–3years of training and experience in quantity food production.
Formal and on‑the‑job training in quantity food preparation, cooking, food and equipment safety, and sanitation.
Ability to read, write and understand English and to follow verbal and written instructions.
Demonstrated leadership, decision‑making, problem‑solving, communication, teamwork, flexibility, ethical standards, and reliability.
Strong oral and written communication skills, self‑motivated, disciplined, and computer‑savvy with word processing and spreadsheet use.
Provide a Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening within 6months of hire date.
Conditions of Employment Schedule may vary; weekend and evening work required.
Location: 5050 Jepson Street, Niagara Falls, ON.
Compensation : Target hiring range $23.29 to $24.01 per hour, with a maximum of $24.72.
