Major Responsibilities
Remove, replace, or adjust brakes (air and hydraulic), fifth wheel, cab components, and accessories; perform minor electrical repairs and trim trailer maintenance (doors, wheel seals, etc.) under some supervision.
Perform all aspects of preventive maintenance on vehicles as trained.
Carry out mechanical repairs and replacements as directed or assisted by a Technician I, II, Lead Technician, or Supervisor.
Provide customer service duties as needed.
Pick up and deliver vehicles.
Maintain work area appearance and safety.
Use hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, gauges, precision instruments) and power tools (pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks, hoists).
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks,
and lubrication of equipment.
Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble components.
Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
Execute other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Qualifications
1–2 years of practical experience with vehicle or truck repair (preferred).
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Vocational/technical training or certification preferred.
Currently enrolled in an apprenticeship program.
Active membership/registration with applicable government agencies.
Working knowledge of hand tools required.
Valid driver's license class G or class 5; must obtain class DZ within 6 months of hire.
Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems preferred.
Ability to work in non‑climate‑controlled conditions.
Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
Willingness to travel within the district to customer sites and training locations.
Physical Requirements
Regularly lift or move up to 12 kg; frequently up to 23 kg; occasionally up to 45 kg.
Require close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Regularly stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach.
