Join The Link as a Housing Mentor, focusing on assisting young adults in achieving housing stability. This role emphasizes individualized, trauma-informed support for ages 18 to 30.
As a Housing Mentor, you will work collaboratively within the Housing First team, providing essential resources and support to youth facing housing instability. Your work will involve building respectful relationships, assisting with tenancy rights, mediating landlord disputes, and promoting participants' personal goals through a client-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster supportive relationships between mentors and youth
• Conduct regular check-ins with participants for guidance
• Advocate for participants with landlords regarding tenancy issues
• Provide assistance in daily activities and resource access
• Keep detailed documentation of all interactions
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education or related life experiences
• Knowledge of cultural sensitivity and anti-oppressive practices
• Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies
• Robust interpersonal abilities and flexibility in work hours
• Valid driver's license with access to a personal vehicle
