Position Summary
Cambrian College’s Schools of Health Sciences and Emergency Services requires Medical Laboratory Technologists on a part time basis beginning September 2026. These positions are either temporary part time or on a casual "on-call" basis, up to 24 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with faculty to support the delivery of laboratory courses
Reinforce previously taught theory and laboratory techniques.
Provide student feedback in the laboratory setting.
Assist faculty with demonstrations of laboratory procedures and safe laboratory practices.
Assist with the preparation, setup, organization, stocking, and cleanup of laboratory facilities
Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure laboratories remain safe, functional, and ready for instruction.
Assist in maintaining laboratory inventory, specimens, supplies, and laboratory waste in accordance with regulatory requirements and established laboratory procedures.
Collaborate with faculty and fellow technologists to promote a safe, organized, and effective learning environment.
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of a three-year postsecondary diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
(A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application * education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application).
Current Practising License with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) in positive standing.
Must hold current First Aid and CPR certificates.
Three years of experience as a medical laboratory technologist.
Robust communication, interpersonal, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, team-oriented workplace.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Assets:
Previous teaching, clinical instruction, or student mentoring experience in a postsecondary or clinical setting.
Adult education certification
