As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced, hands‑on IT Infrastructure & Security Specialist to help keep our technology workplace secure, stable and well documented. Working across PMP and its associated companies, this position supports network infrastructure, Microsoft 365 and identity administration, endpoint security, patching, monitoring and complex technical troubleshooting.
Reporting to the IT Services Manager, this role will implement established technology and security standards, identify risks, recommend practical improvements and manage escalations. It will also administer approved AI platforms and help assess new tools for security, privacy, data handling and business fit.
That means keeping PMP’s infrastructure stable, secure, and well documented; identifying risks and incidents early and communicating clearly; ensuring operational standards are implemented consistently; and ensuring that technology leadership has reliable technical support for security, modernization and responsible AI adoption.

Responsibilities
Administer and monitor the organization’s Ubiquiti UniFi environment, including gateways, switches, wireless access points, VLANs and uplinks.
Troubleshoot complex switching, routing, wireless and connectivity issues, including spanning‑tree instability, port flapping, cabling faults and performance degradation.
Configure and maintain switching protections, loop prevention, network segmentation, access controls and other appropriate hardening measures.
Monitor infrastructure health and capacity, coordinate planned maintenance, and support reliable operation across sites and associated companies.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers on equipment procurement, escalations,
warranty support and technical projects.
Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including user access, groups, permissions, authentication controls and privileged access, in accordance with established standards.
Support joiner, mover and leaver processes and perform regular access and licence reviews.
Maintain endpoint‑management, security, patching and vulnerability‑management processes and follow up on identified exceptions.
Monitor security alerts and suspicious activity, perform initial investigation, document findings and elevate potential incidents promptly.
Support backup monitoring, recovery testing, incident‑response readiness and security‑awareness initiatives.
Maintain accurate network diagrams, system configurations, inventories, procedures, change records and incident documentation.
Administer approved AI platforms and coding assistants, including user access, licensing, configuration and usage oversight.
Assist with security, privacy and data‑handling assessments of proposed AI tools before adoption.
Implement AI governance requirements and approved‑use guidelines established by leadership.
Stay informed about emerging AI‑related risks, including data leakage, unsafe integrations and prompt‑injection attacks, and recommend practical mitigations.
Help employees use approved AI tools safely and effectively, escalating policy or risk questions when appropriate.
Education and Experience
Five or more years of hands‑on systems, network or infrastructure administration experience, including responsibility for business‑critical environments, is required.
Strong understanding of routing, switching, wireless networking, VLANs, identity, access control and infrastructure hardening is required.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose technical incidents beyond basic help‑desk escalation is required.
Experience with Ubiquiti UniFi or a comparable enterprise networking platform is required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Windows environments and modern authentication and security controls is required.
Diploma, degree or equivalent practical experience in information technology, networking, cybersecurity or a related discipline is required.
Relevant certification such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, ISC² Certified in Cybersecurity or Fortinet is considered an asset.
Experience with endpoint management, vulnerability management, backup and recovery, or security‑monitoring platforms is considered an asset.
Experience administering AI coding assistants or large‑language‑model tools in a business environment is considered an asset.
Experience supporting a multi‑company or multi‑site organization, ideally in construction, manufacturing, engineering or another operationally complex environment is considered a strong asset.

Work Conditions
Permanent part‑time position, expected to average 20–24 hours per week.
A regular schedule will be agreed with the successful candidate based on business coverage requirements.
Walking on uneven ground on construction sites from time to time might be required.
Overtime as required.
