Become a vital part of the Akausivik Inuit Family Health Team as a Case Manager/Interpreter in Ottawa, Ontario. This role focuses on enhancing healthcare access for Inuit individuals and families through interpretation and support.
In this full-time permanent position, you will collaborate with various service providers, helping families overcome health barriers and providing cultural support. You'll be instrumental in organizing community educational initiatives and ensuring a comprehensive care experience for patients. Your engagement and knowledge will significantly influence community health improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain community trust and relationships
• Provide medical interpretation in English and Inuktitut
• Support families in overcoming healthcare barriers
• Facilitate referrals and access to community resources
• Keep accurate and confidential patient records
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Social Work or Human Services
• 2-3 years of relevant community health experience
• Knowledge of Inuit culture and health challenges
• Robust English and Inuktitut communication skills
• Competency in Microsoft Office applications
