Be Someone's eyes and ears. Bring the world to a person who is deafblind. Sensity has an exciting opportunity for an Intervenor to join our team in Woodbridge, ON. The Intervenor supports communication and day‑to‑day living for individuals who are living with dual sensory impairment so that they may live independently. Join us to learn recent skills and experience personal growth and fulfillment.
Shifts Available
Full Time: 36–40 hrs weekly (shifts include days, afternoons, evenings and weekends on a rotational schedule)

A competitive wage starting at $23.49 per hour.

Key Activities
Supporting the individual in their home and community environments.
Using communication techniques to relay information.
Empowering the individual to participate and succeed in all aspects of daily living including personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning and volunteering.
Providing personal care as required (e.g., lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, medication administration).
Assisting with developing and supporting individual goals and objectives.
Assisting with program development.
Ensuring documentation and records are complete.
Qualifications
Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program, or a related human services field such as Developmental Services Worker (DSW), Social Services Worker (SSW), Community Services Worker (CSW), Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA), Personal Support Worker (PSW), or Behavioural Science.
Experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviours.
Experience supporting persons with mental health conditions.
Command of American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
A valid Class G driver’s licence, reliable vehicle, clean current driver’s abstract and ability to obtain automobile insurance with a minimum liability of $2 million.
Training Program
In‑house training program to support our clients.
Other Requirements
Employment is conditional upon receipt of a successful Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
Position requires repetitive hand motion and good manual dexterity with moderate stooping, bending and lifting; ability to lift 35–50 lbs occasionally.
Work will be required indoors and outdoors.
French language skills considered an asset.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
