Job Title: Terminal Operator
Job Status: Full-time Permanent Position (Seasonal)
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: MCASPHALT, 1000 Evans Road, Ashcroft, BC, V0K 1A0
Reporting to: Facility Manager

Position Summary
In this full-time seasonal position as a terminal operator, your duties will include power engineering, operations, and general labour duties under the Facility Manager at the Ashcroft McAsphalt Terminal. You will follow all standard operating procedures and policies established by the McAsphalt Operations department. Preference will be given to those with a valid 4th or 5th class Power Engineer certificate.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Operating boilers and heaters

Manufacturing and blending asphaltic products

Loading and offloading tanker trucks and railcars

Performing preventative maintenance and completing daily logs and inspections

Other general labour duties as assigned by the Facility Manager

Shift Information
Shifts will vary weekly with rotations between day, evening, and some night shifts.



You may be required to work on different work schedules including weekends and be available to work overtime as needed.

Required Qualifications

Minimum high school or college diploma

4th or 5th class power engineering certificate

Ability to work effectively under pressure, being responsible, resourceful, and autonomous

A strong work ethic and ability to work in small teams

Reliable transportation to and from work in a timely manner

Ability to work outdoors at heights and in all weather conditions

Knowledge of pumps, piping, heat tracing, and hot oil heaters considered an asset

Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills in English with a strong interpersonal attitude

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with strong organizational skills
