ATCO Structures & Logistics is looking to hire a registered Carpenter Journeyman to join our Grimsby Manufacturing Plant. The role reports to the Lead Hand and involves assisting in constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard while conforming to local building codes. This is a full‑time permanent role based in Grimsby, Ontario.
Job Responsibilities
Build house framework, walls, roof, exterior and interior finishes
Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles
Repair and remodel existing structures of all kinds
Read and interpret drawings
Select materials, plan sequences and methods of work, and measure and mark materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions
Cut and shape materials and join them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue
Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and in the right size, shape, and location
Work accurately and economically and follow national and local building codes
Other duties as assigned
Who You Are
Carpenter Journeyperson
Previous experience with modular units is considered an asset
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Ability to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools as well as other building materials
Ability to work in a team workplace
