Job Overview Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for an Accounting Analyst – Term in the energy infrastructure sector, located in North York, Ontario. This is a term role until July 2027. Compensation: $40.00‑$45.00 hourly. Contract until July 2027. Full‑time hours: 8 per day (40 per week). Hybrid work model.
Responsibilities Perform complex accounting research and analysis, resolving accounting issues and supporting accurate financial reporting.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations and assist with month‑end and quarter‑end close processes.
Review contracts to assess accounting implications and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Maintain and document internal controls, ensuring SOX compliance and adherence to financial policies.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors on SOX processes, controls, and audit requirements.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls.




Communicate complex accounting issues and their financial impacts to management and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Support special projects, ad‑hoc financial analysis, and cross‑functional initiatives while meeting tight reporting deadlines.
Qualifications CPA designation with 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Robust knowledge of accounting principles, including US GAAP.
Experience in technical accounting, accounting research, and external financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to senior management.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience with Oracle, SAP, and Hyperion SmartView is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of integrity.
