CNC Operator

Job Summary

The CNC Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts that meet quality and production standards. This role requires strong proficiency in CAD/CAM. The position supports efficient production, consistent quality, and secure shop operations.

Position Objectives
Program, set-up, and run CNC Machines independently
Produce parts accurately and efficiently to meet production schedules
Maintain quality standards minimizing scrap or rework
Support continuous improvement in machining processes
Contribute to safe, organized, and productive shop environment
Programming & Setup
Program CNC machines using CAM software
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies appropriate for the job
Set up machines for new and repeat jobs,
Verify program accuracy through simulation, test runs, and first-off inspections
Machine Operations
Operate CNC machines to produce parts within specified tolerances
Monitor machine performance and make setting adjustments as needed
Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, programs, or machine operations




Maintain production efficiency while ensuring product quality
Quality & Inspection
Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
Ensure parts meet drawing specifications and quality standards
Identify and report non-conformances or process issues promptly
Maintain accurate production and inspection records

Education/Training
Schooling in Machining.
Equivalent hands-on experience will be prioritized

Working Conditions
Manufacturing / shop floor environment
Standing for extended periods
Lifting materials and tooling required
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required

Experience:
CNC Machining: 3 years (preferred)

Schedule: Hourly 37.5 hours/week. Monday to Friday, day shift, typically 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Wage: Starting $23 per hour

3 weeks paid vacation
