Job Summary The Class 3 Driver will safely operate aClass 3 vehicle with air brakes to collect residential recycling, perform pre-and post-trip inspections, deliver materials to the processing facility, and provideprofessional service to customers.
Thisroleoperatesa right-hand-drive Class 3 recycling truck. Thedriveris required tomanually load recyclables by emptyingresidential recycling bins into one of three side-loader compartments. Theposition requires frequent entry andexitfrom the vehicle at eachstop and involves consistent physicallabourthroughout the day. Thesuccessful candidate must be comfortable with manual handling and working in aphysically demanding environment whilemaintaininga strong focus onsafety and service.
Position Description Safe and efficientoperation of a Class 3 motor vehicle (with air brakes);
Conduct all activitiesaccording to the collection schedule;
Performcurbsiderecycling collection in a manner that meets or exceedscontract requirements;
Conduct dailyinspection of vehicle and accurately complete related documentation;
Communicate withsupervisor regarding concerns or suggestions; and
Perform other relatedduties as may be assigned from time to time.
Skills & Qualifications Requires Class 3 with air brakeendorsement;
Must have clean driver’sabstract;
Minimum 2 years workingexperience driving with required license preferred;
Ability to lift up to 50lbs;
The ability to work overtime onan “as-needed” basis, is required;
Good command of the Englishlanguage (both verbal and written); and
Experience in the waste andrecycling industry or similar industry – an asset.
