About The Job Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Performs assessments and plans, implements, and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills performed varies according to the predictability of outcomes for the client population.
Administers oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures.
Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and follows organizational policies, procedures, standards, and unit‑specific protocols.
Permanent Part Time (0.65) opportunity.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00.
About this Location Poplar Ridge Pavillion is a residential facility attached to Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail. It provides personal and nursing care 24 hours/day, 7 days/week to adults with complex health care needs requiring 24‑hour qualified care due to physical disability or mental or behavioral conditions, including brain injuries or dementia. The unit has 49 beds, 4 wards, 5 private rooms (one convalescent), and 14 semi‑private rooms. Meals are prepared by the acute hospital and delivered by kitchen staff. The staffing pattern typically includes one care aide per 7.5 residents on day shift and one LPN and two care aides on nights. Poplar Ridge is considered one large unit, with the nurse’s station in the center of the facility and one dining room for all residents.
