Overall Job Purpose Quality Assurance (QA) Technicians are responsible for ensuring that the overall quality and safety of products and processes meet the industry regulations, customer expectations and company requirements.
This is a hardworking, hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves environment emphasizing a team-oriented and collaborative style. It will be key for the candidate to embrace change and see past obstacles with a focus on solutions in the context of a company undergoing rapid growth and ongoing functional integration.
Responsibilities, including but not limited to: Review, verify and file cultivation/processing/packaging records including but not limited to cleaning and environmental logs, work orders, cultivation application logs and production records
Perform Quality control inspections, complete associated documentation and work with QA Manager and department leaders to address non conformances
Complete ERP system transactions related to Work Order reviews and product releases, plant harvests, inventory adjustments, QC samples etc.
Work with department leaders to identify and document quality incidents and deviations in eQMS system, participate in quality investigations, and generate deviation reports
Participate in customer complaint investigations
Ensure timely completion and upload of packaged product COAs for customers
Label ordering, label proof review and approval, and label receiving verification
Maintain the software program data entry for all relevant areas
Collect, compile and analyze operational or experimental data
Prepare well organized batch files for review by (A)QAP
Collect and ship product samples, record and verify QC testing results
Participate in conducting and documenting Internal Quality Audits
Assist the departments in the development of standard operating procedures
Review day-to-day operations to ensure compliance with SOPs, Good Production Practices and industry regulations
Analyze and update Standard Operational Procedures, forms and reference documents to improve quality and packaging efficiencies
Assist in lab work with operating HPLC and moisture analyzer as required
Maintenance of inventory and inventory control procedures
Recording and verifying waste records
Assist the QA Director and QA Manager with special requests and projects that may be outside of day-to-day responsibilities
The ideal candidate has Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Science preferred (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharma, food science, plant science, bioscience)
1 year experience in a Quality role, preferably within a manufacturing environment Experience in Food/Beverage/Pharma/Cannabis is a strong asset
Experience in ERP systems; (ex. SAGE) and eQMS systems (ex. Veeva) is considered a strong asset
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a well-developed professional manner and a focus on positive, productive business relationships.
Displays proactive behaviour and take ownership of their actions
A criminal records check will be required after job offer is communicated
All employees must be 19+
Job Details Salary: Starting at $45,000 annually
Status: Full-Time, permanent, position
Schedule: Currently Monday-Friday,
8:00am - 4:30pm, subject to change as required for operational needs

Ability to wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to medical gloves, safety eyewear, face masks, etc. as required to safely perform duties.
Environmental Demands Fast-pace, cannabis manufacturing plant
Must be willing and able to work in/move through environments with variable temperature and humidity, and variable lighting.
Must be able to work in an environment that uses cleaning products including, but not limited to, AM 717, Caustek Free, Powerquat, Isopropyl Alcohol, Formula 19, Windex, Scrubber Blue(toilet), Goo Gone, Stainless Steel Cleaner, Magic eraser, Vinegar, Century Tile Cleaner.
This position may involve exposure to cannabis/plant materials and is therefore not likely suitable for anyone that may suffer from allergies to cannabis or plant pollen, or for anyone that experiences medical issues as a result of exposure to cannabis/plant materials
