Job Title: Inspector Quality Control
Job Summary
A Quality Control Inspector supports the development and continuous improvement activities of the Quality Control inspection function by developing and maintaining: (1) inspection plans to ensure product conforms to MacDon Industries Ltd. specifications, (2) MacDon Quality Control work instructions and processes, (3) Training programs and associated documents for Quality Control inspection and operations.
Responsibility
Inspection of materials, components and assemblies for compliance with established specifications
Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality standards by providing information required for disposition
Make recommendations for improvements in design, tooling or manufacture as a result of inspection
Collect and compile statistical quality data
Drive area improvements and enforce 5S lean methodology
Support continuous improvement efforts to eliminate waste, improve work environment, maintain and improve the visual factory and drive efficiencies
Other duties as assigned by Manager
Shift work required
Academic/Educational Requirements
Secondary school (high school diploma or equivalent).
Required Skills/Experience
Previous QC experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
Proficiency in reading blueprints is mandatory (prior experience or education)
Use of inspection tools, equipment and measurement techniques is mandatory (prior experience or education)
Read, comprehend and follow written instructions
Experience in assembly in a production workplace is an asset
Understanding of modern manufacturing equipment and processes
Proficient in the use of personal computers, MS Office programs, JDE & SharePoint systems
Valuable understanding of technical mathematics
Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication
