The Apprentice, Welder supports Journeyman Welders in fabricating, manufacturing, and repairing drilling rig components while gaining hands ‑ on experience in the trade. This role focuses on developing foundational welding skills by working on basic projects and building technical knowledge in a shop environment.

DAY IN THE LIFE:
Fabricate, fit,



and repair drilling rig components and equipment according to engineering drawings and quality standards
Perform basic welding using GMAW, FCAW, and MCAW processes with manual and semi-automatic equipment
Apply foundational knowledge of welding techniques, metal properties, and trade math to support fabrication tasks
Follow proper lifting, rigging, and hoisting practices in accordance with safety standards
Maintain a clean, safe work workplace while supporting general shop operations and team activities
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
High school diploma or GED required; completion of the first period of vocational welding training or equivalent apprenticeship in progress
Minimum 1+ year of shop or manufacturing experience preferred, with progress toward required on-the-jobtraining hours
Ability to read structural blueprints and welding symbols is an asset
Strong commitment to safety, with working knowledge of OHS regulations, WHMIS, and proper PPE use
Detail-oriented, self-motivatedteam player with good communication skills and a basic understanding of hand and power tools
