PRODUCTION MAINTENANCE MECHANIC – CANADA (AFTERNOON SHIFT)
We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated individual to join our Cambridge production facility as a Maintenance Mechanic. This full‑time hourly position supports the manufacture of Kwik Lok closures and focuses on continual improvement of quality, food safety and manufacturing processes. Reports directly to the Production Manager and Plant Manager.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with all production departments (extrusion, slitting, manufacturing line, food safety team) to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee equipment maintenance and repair, incorporating technological advancements as needed.
Set up production machines to manufacture the correct Lok/label series and opening size per job order specification and production schedule; run product samples and confirm proper setup of tooling; inspect for correct pitch, gauge, Lok series, color, opening size and defect‑free quality.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance per work orders and demand; assist with daily machine adjustments to maintain quality.
Account for all tools during maintenance, repair or setup; remove excess lubricants, clean equipment immediately; complete die‑set inspection and cleaning with each change; maintain and replace blades for label‑cutting machines.
Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of Kwik Lok production practices and food safety requirements.
Supervise staff as designated.
Identify and implement new ways to streamline processes and increase productivity.
Seek feedback for personal development and accept constructive feedback.
Follow all company‑established food safety and quality guidelines and procedures; perform additional duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High‑school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
Production and/or mechanical/maintenance experience.
Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship.

ADVANTAGES & COMPENSATION
Pay scale: start wage $28.14, after probation $29.86.

Schedule: full time, afternoon shift (Monday–Thursday 3:30 pm–2:00 am); training on dayshift (Monday–Thursday 6:30 am–5:00 pm).

Work environment: occasional bending, squatting, reaching, kneeling; may lift up to 60 lbs on occasion. Sounds: office environment ~10 dB, production environment 85–95 dB. Requires standing, walking, and sitting.
