Join Hydro Ottawa as the Technical Standards Manager, directing the asset management strategy and ensuring compliance with engineering standards in a hybrid role. This position emphasizes leadership and technical expertise. As the Manager of Asset Management & Technical Standards, you will report to the Director of Distribution Engineering.
Your mission will be to lead a team dedicated to optimizing the lifecycle of distribution assets. You’ll manage compliance with safety regulations while ensuring the resilience and sustainability of the distribution network. Drive forward-thinking engineering practices that meet the challenges of electrification and climate change. Key Responsibilities:
Lead a high-performing team through mentorship and goal setting
Develop strategic Asset Management Plans for corporate alignment
Oversee engineering standards and system coordination
Navigate regulatory compliance and risk modeling
Manage departmental budgets for optimal resource allocation Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program
Licensed Qualified Engineer in Ontario
At least five years of leadership experience
Knowledge of ISO 55000 Asset Management is a plus
Proficient in Google Workspace and other office tools Shape Hydro Ottawa’s engineering standards and asset management strategies as Technical Standards Manager.
