At Tap Roots Plumbing and Heating, we specialize in plumbing and mechanical systems for high-rise buildings, townhomes, and 4-6 storey wood frame. Our reputation is built on attention to detail, technical excellence, and a passion for quality workmanship. We are currently looking for a Mechanical Project Manager to join our team!

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing mechanical construction projects from planning through closeout. This role requires a detail-oriented and technically proficient leader who can coordinate effectively with site staff, trades, vendors, and stakeholders. They are responsible for overseeing all aspects of a project's lifecycle, ensuring that schedules, labor, quality, and costs are managed effectively.

Manager is a hands-on contributor, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any challenges to keep the work on track.

Key Responsibilities Lead mechanical construction projects from startup through closeout with a focus on safety, quality, schedule, and cost control

Manage RFIs, site instructions, change orders, and drawing updates with clear communication to site teams

Support Foremen and field staff through regular site visits, coordination, and responsive problem-solving

Prepare and review cost estimates, purchase orders, contracts, and project documentation

Track job costs,



allocate to cost codes, and provide accurate billing and closeout reporting

Deliver concise monthly project updates to executive leadership, covering labor, materials, risks, and progress

Coordinate material, equipment, and prefab deliveries to align with construction schedules

Lead QA/QC, commissioning, and end of project commissioning, including O&M; manuals and LEED documentation where required

Maintain robust working relationships with developers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams

Champion safety compliance, ensuring documentation, training, and procedures meet all OHS requirements

Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and project execution

Collaborate with estimating, HR, and operations teams to support bidding, resourcing, and training initiatives

What Sets You Apart Minimum 5 years in senior Project Manager Role

Red Seal Certification in Plumbing is an asset

PMP designation considered an asset

Experience managing residential projects, primarily high-rise residential.

Strong communication skills – clear, concise, and effective, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Committed to collaboration, team success, and high-quality results.

Integrity-driven, accountable, and consistent in delivering on responsibilities.

Detail-oriented, technically sound, and proactive in problem-solving

Formal training in plumbing is considered an asset.

Ability to travel between the office and job sites.

Legally entitled to work full-time in Canada.
