Compensation: $30 – $36/ hour (full time / permanent)

Join On Side Restoration as a Drywaller/Painter and help rebuild homes and businesses after disaster strikes. You’ll repair and finish drywall, apply textures, and bring spaces to life with fresh paint.

What you bring as a Drywaller/Painter

5+ years of drywall repair experience (cutting, mudding, sanding, taping, painting)

Experience with restoration repairs (vs new or renovation)

Brush/roller/spray gun paint experience to finish the area for uniformity and completion

Construction experience and tool proficiency: you have your own tools for the job

Previous experience reading and executing work orders

Physically fit: able to do heavy lifting (moving materials) and long periods of kneeling/bending/crouching/reaching

Interest in cross training: emergencies and demolition

Ability to work independently or in a team

Tech‑savvy (comfortable using apps/software)

Strong communication and people skills

Detail‑oriented, quality‑driven, safety‑focused

Valid driver’s licence and clean criminal record (we do check)

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken

What you’re responsible for…

Measure, cut, install, and repair damaged drywall

Estimate the quantity of materials required by measuring surfaces, reviewing scopes,



sketches and work orders

Ceiling texture

Tape, mud, sand, and texture surfaces

Prepare and protect work sites

Prepare surfaces and apply primers, paints, stains, or finishes

Apply finishes that are sponged, ragged and layered

Feathering/blending wall paint

Stucco finishes/repairs

Match colors and apply coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray guns

Install wall coverings

Other stuff that’ll help you be successful but isn’t mandatory:

Drywall Finisher or Plasterer ticket

WHMIS

First Aid

Of Note
Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.
