North District is hiring a Temporary Part time Communication Skills Specialist Teacher effective September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. This position will work closely with teachers to improve students' communication skills in literacy and numeracy. Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of equity gaps and how to support diverse learning needs through strength-based student plans.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with staff to deliver professional learning
• Assist in student learning through individualized plans
• Evaluate and organize academic activities for students
• Leverage local resources for teaching strategies
• Plan for equitable student support and success
Requirements:
• University major related to teaching or equivalent
• Certification with the Teacher Regulation Branch
• Commitment to equity and local Indigenous culture
• Proven ability to instruct and evaluate effectively
• Experience in understanding student needs
