Join the CBC as an Associate Producer in the Indigenous Pathways Program in Halifax, empowering First Nations, Inuit, and Métis voices through multimedia storytelling. This full-time, on-site position offers in-depth training and mentorship.
The Indigenous Pathways Program is a 9-month career launchpad designed specifically for aspiring Indigenous journalists. From October 2026 to June 2027, you will engage in multimedia journalism training and experience hands-on storytelling work. No prior journalism background is necessary; what matters most is your unique perspective and connection to your community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Immerse in the CBC culture and ethos
• Develop storytelling skills through workshops and training
• Produce impactful stories within a fast-paced newsroom
• Refine your craft and showcase your voice by June
• Build networks with mentors and peers within CBC
Requirements:
• First Nations, Inuit, or Métis heritage
• Passion for multimedia journalism
• Ability to articulate storytelling ideas
• Strong collaboration and critical-thinking skills
• Full-time, in office commitment in Halifax
