Drive positive change for newcomers at YWCA as a Career Advisor in North Vancouver. This role focuses on personalized support, employer engagement, and effective job placement strategies.
As a Career Advisor within the YWCA Career Paths program, you will assist participants with wide-ranging backgrounds in achieving their employment aspirations. Your responsibilities include conducting assessments, facilitating coaching, and improving resume and interview readiness. Additionally, you will foster connections with local employers to enhance job opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess participant skills and help set career goals
• Provide one-on-one coaching for employment readiness
• Maintain records of job placements and employer feedback
• Conduct market research to pinpoint emerging job trends
• Collaborate with training providers for relevant skill development
Requirements:
• Relevant education with a focus on career counseling
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Understanding of newcomer experiences in Canada
• Strong social media skills for job search
• Valid clear criminal record check required
