Become a vital part of Red Door as a Shelter Support Worker, ensuring a protected and reliable shelter for families. This full-time role involves crisis intervention, case management, and resident support in a structured environment.
Under the guidance of the Program Manager, you will help maintain a supportive atmosphere for residents at the Pines/Gender-based Violence Site. Your responsibilities include emergency intake, behavior management, and coordinating access to community services. You will play an essential role in assisting clients' transition back to community living while ensuring house rules are enforced and the premises remain safe and clean.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct emergency intake and orientation for residents
• Offer ongoing support and crisis intervention
• Collaborate with Shelter staff for community resources
• Enforce house rules and maintain safety standards
• Complete room checks and ensure cleanliness
Requirements:
• Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience
• 6 months to 1 year of support service experience
• Knowledge of Toronto's social service system
• Ability to manage and de-escalate conflicts
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
