About the Role:

The Placement Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient placement of components or materials within manufacturing or assembly processes. This position is responsible for interpreting technical drawings and specifications to correctly position parts, ensuring quality and precision in production. The technician collaborates closely with engineering and production teams to optimize placement techniques and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the process.

Attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards are paramount to maintain product integrity and operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Placement Technician contributes to the seamless flow of production, supporting the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality products on schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Proven experience in a manufacturing or assembly setting involving component placement.

- Basic understanding of technical drawings and blueprints.

- Familiarity with hand tools and placement machinery.

- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education or certification in manufacturing technology or a related field.

- Experience with automated placement equipment or robotics.

- Knowledge of quality control processes and standards such as ISO.

- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.

- Previous experience working in a Canadian manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:





- Interpret and follow detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to accurately place components or materials.

- Operate placement machinery and tools, ensuring proper setup and calibration for each task.

- Inspect placed components for alignment, fit, and quality, making adjustments as necessary to meet specifications.

- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to identify and resolve placement issues or defects.

- Maintain accurate records of placement activities, including any deviations or corrective actions taken.

- Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance placement processes and increase efficiency.

Skills:

The Placement Technician utilizes technical reading skills daily to interpret blueprints and ensure components are positioned correctly according to specifications. Manual dexterity and precision are essential for handling tools and machinery to achieve accurate placement and maintain product quality. Problem-solving skills are frequently applied to troubleshoot placement issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
