Join The Salvation Army as a Food Service Worker, supporting your community with essential food services. You will prepare meals and ensure a clean dining environment every day.
In this role, supervised by the Manager of Support Services, you will prepare, serve, and clean up food service areas. Duties include setting tables, portioning meals, and assembling food items, along with ensuring hygiene through effective cleaning practices. You will also deliver meals and stock supplies to maintain an effective kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and set up dining areas for meal service
• Portion and serve hot and cold meals according to needs
• Clean and wash cooking equipment and dining utensils
• Ensure hygiene and cleanliness of all food service areas
• Perform catering duties and assist where required
Requirements:
• Grade 10 education or equivalent experience
• Valid Food Safe Level I certification
• Effective organizational and communication skills
• Ability to use kitchen equipment responsibly
• Physical ability to fulfill job tasks
