Heavy Equipment Technician
Employer: Landform Inc.

Job Location: Based out of 283171 TWP 262, Rocky View County, AB, T4A 1J8 (business address), with travel to various locations in the Calgary area (company-provided vehicle for site visits).

Wage: $41.03 to $45.00/hour (based on skills and experience); Salary increase based on performance at 3-month and annual reviews, per company policy

Employment terms and conditions:

Permanent, Full-time

40 hours/week

Monday to Friday, occasional weekends and overtime

Winter on-call rotation (in case of emergency with snow removal equipment in evenings/early mornings)

Job requirements:
Language: English

Education/experience: Heavy-duty equipment technician trade certification or equivalent experience to challenge certification (approximately 4 years of experience)

Types of equipment:

Heavy construction equipment (including Loaders, Dozers, Excavators),

Heavy trucks, fleet trucks and support vehicles

Diesel engines

Hydraulic systemsSnow removal equipment

Skid steer

Landscaping equipment (including weed wacker, various mowers, gators, plate tamper, sod rollers)





Various other landscape and construction equipment power tools

Brands include Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, Case, Terex, Hydrema, and Wacker

Worksite workplace: Non-smoking, Outdoors, Noisy, Dusty

Work setting: Landscape construction and maintenance contractor

Tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Gloves, Own tools

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads (Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)), Bending, crouching, kneeling, Standing for extended periods, Attention to detail, Manual dexterity, Hand-eye coordination

Personal Suitability: Accurate, Dependability, Reliability, Organized

Additional: Must be able and willing to obtain a valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License, with a clean abstract, before commencing employment

Duties:

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues

Perform preventative maintenance and inspections

Complete repairs in both shop and field environments

Maintain accurate service records

Assist with parts inventory and shop organization

Communicate with the Equipment Manager regarding equipment status and repair priorities
