Support individuals in recovery with Vancouver Island Health as an Addictions and Recovery Worker. This casual position offers a critical role in non-medical withdrawal management and client support.
As part of Island Health, you will provide comprehensive care in a detoxification and recovery environment. Your responsibilities will include group facilitation, individual assessments, and supportive counseling for clients facing substance misuse challenges. This role demands effective communication, crisis intervention skills, and the ability to set solid boundaries for personal and client safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide non-medical withdrawal management care
• Facilitate supportive and educational group sessions
• Assess, admit,
and discharge clients effectively
• Monitor client health and behavioral changes
• Maintain clear communication with waitlisted clients
Requirements:
• Post-secondary certification in addiction counseling
• Two years of related experience in a similar role
• Valid BC Driver's License when necessary
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Food Safe Certificate and NVCI training
