As we continue to grow and evolve, we're looking for a collaborative and forward-thinking leader to join our team as Practice Manager, Clinic and Business Operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of one of Ottawa's most established optometric practices by strengthening our people, improving operational performance, and supporting strategic growth. The opportunity Reporting directly to the Partners, you'll serve as the senior operational leader responsible for the overall performance, effectiveness, and continued success of our two clinic locations.

You'll work closely with clinic leadership to translate vision into action, ensuring we continue to deliver an exceptional patient experience while building an outstanding workplace for our team. Your leadership will span:

Business operations

Financial management and planning

Human resources and talent development

Leadership coaching

Strategic planning

Continuous improvement initiatives

Organizational effectiveness What you’ll do Strengthen the business

Lead annual budgeting and financial planning activities

Develop meaningful business and operational metrics

Improve reporting and decision-making processes

Support inventory management, purchasing, and vendor relationships

Identify opportunities to improve operational and financial performance Build leaders and teams

Coach and develop department managers

Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning

Support succession planning and leadership development

Help create an engaged, high-performing workplace culture Lead Human Resources

Oversee recruitment, onboarding,



employee development, and retention initiatives

Support performance management and employee relations

Guide leaders through workplace challenges and organizational change

Ensure HR practices remain aligned with legislation and organizational values Drive operational excellence

Lead day-to-day operations across both clinic locations

Improve systems, workflows, and organizational processes

Champion business improvement initiatives

Act as a trusted advisor to the Partners on operational and strategic matters Who you are You're a people-focused business leader who understands that exceptional patient experiences begin with exceptional employee experiences. You bring solid business acumen, financial understanding, and operational expertise, but you're equally passionate about coaching leaders, building culture, and helping organizations grow. You enjoy solving complex problems, driving positive change, and partnering with others to achieve shared goals.

What you bring Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Health Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

5-8 years of progressive leadership experience

Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in healthcare, professional services, or another service-focused environment

Strong financial and business management skills

Experience leading organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives

Proven ability to coach and develop leaders

Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills What we offer The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive base salary, employees receive:
