Front-End Loader Operator – Waste Transfer Station

Location: Abbotsford, BC

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $25–$30/hour, based on experience

We are looking for an experienced Front-End Loader Operator to join our team at a busy waste transfer station.

The primary responsibility of this position is operating a front-end loader to move, push, consolidate, and manage waste material. This is also a hands-on yard position, and the successful candidate will assist with general yard duties when not operating equipment.

Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate a front-end loader
Push, move, consolidate, and manage waste material
Maintain an organized tipping floor and working area
Load and move material as required
Perform general yard cleanup and housekeeping
Pick up loose material and debris throughout the yard
Assist with organizing bins, equipment, and materials
Help keep traffic areas and access points explicit
Perform basic site and yard maintenance tasks
Work safely around trucks, equipment, customers, and other employees
Complete daily equipment inspections
Keep the loader reasonably clean and report mechanical concerns
Assist with other general yard tasks as required




Follow all site safety procedures and supervisor direction

Requirements
Previous front-end loader experience
Comfortable working both in the loader and on the ground
Comfortable working around garbage, dust, mud, and varying weather conditions
Positive awareness when working around trucks and people
Reliable and punctual
Able to work independently
Safety-conscious and skilled
Valid driver's licence
Willing to pitch in and help wherever needed around the yard

Previous waste, recycling, construction, aggregate, or transfer station experience is an asset but not required.
