Job Summary Merlin Plastics Supply Inc. is a processor of post-consumer and post-industrial plastic. We are dedicated and committed to providing environmental services for the packaging industry in an economically efficient, environmentally sound, and socially responsible fashion.
Merlin Plastics Supply Inc. is hiring a General Labor to support our recycling depot operations. This is a physically active role focused on unloading trucks, processing materials, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring safe and efficient workflow in the yard and warehouse.
Employment Type Full-time/Permanent
Location: 351 Gifford St, New Westminster, BC
Key Responsibilities
Unload 5-tonne trucks within target timelines (7 minutes per truck).
Lift, drag, and move bags and materials as required.
Open bags and remove materials for processing.
Load and unload trailers by hand or using pallet jacks.
Perform physical counts of materials received and record accurately.
Process materials immediately as trucks are being unloaded.
Clean up loose bottles, spills, and liquids promptly.
Vacuum or squeegee any liquid on the floor.
Maintain explicit walkways for personnel at all times.
Keep work areas and common areas clean (sweeping, wiping, shoveling).
Maintain outside areas including: From scale to dyke wall, From docks to dyke wall,
From dyke to Encorp audit area
Empty and bale Big Bags (approximately 50 bags per bale).
Follow all safety procedures and SOPs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Prior experience in shipping & receiving or load & unload tasks is desirable.
Previous warehouse, recycling, or labor experience is an asset (not required).
Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, dragging, repetitive tasks).
Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
Attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
