As a remote interpreter, you play a significant role in facilitating communication between KAREN and English speakers. The interpreter needs to be able to process information quickly and with accuracy in a qualified manner. It is essential to ensure a quiet & secure workplace. Note pads and writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries are practical tools.
Candidate Qualifications:
Fluency in English and KAREN
Minimum 1 year interpretation experience preferred but not required
Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy
Render correct concepts and meanings according to the conventions of established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions
Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with permission or at the request of the client
Technical Requirements:
Computer or Laptop
Windows 10 or higher
USB Wired headset
Steady wired internet connection

Remote position, interpreter works from his/her home office
