Title: Food Service & Retail Sales Coordinator
Department: Agriculture
State: Regular Full Time
Pay Grid: Salary Range 3 ($50,480.00 to $66,255.00 per year)
Reporting to: Farm Manager
Summary of Duties
Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Food Service & Retail Sales Coordinator is responsible for supporting the sales and promotional efforts of Qwal̓ímak Nlep̓cálten produce throughout the season. This includes managing the operations of the Qwal̓ímak Coffee trailer and contributing to the execution of communication strategies for both Qwal̓ímak Nlep̓cálten and Qwal̓ímak Coffee. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and committed to delivering excellent customer service while supporting agricultural and retail initiatives.
Key Deliverables and Expectations
Build and maintain strong relationships with local restaurants and grocery stores purchasing Qwal̓ímak Nlep̓cálten produce.
Prepare and distribute weekly fresh sheets detailing produce availability.
Create and maintain retail signage for Qwal̓ímak Coffee and Qwal̓ímak Nlep̓cálten.
Develop and maintain the Qwal̓ímak Coffee menu, adjusting seasonally or as needed.
Design and implement communication plans to promote Qwal̓ímak Coffee.
Oversee supply ordering and inventory management for the coffee trailer.
Coordinate Qwal̓ímak Coffee participation in off-site events.
Train staff on the operation and procedures of the Qwal̓ímak Coffee trailer.
Ensure all food trailer equipment is regularly maintained and repaired as required.
Reconcile daily sales and ensure weekly deposit procedures are followed.
Maintain accurate records of all business transactions, including sales, purchases, inventory,
and expenses.
Work with the Finance Department to submit required documentation and reports for budgeting, accounting, and audits.
Promote and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
Support the maintenance and growth of social media platforms for both Qwal̓ímak Coffee and Qwal̓ímak Nlep̓cálten.
Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions.
Assist with general on-farm activities as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned
Experience and Attributes
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Hospitality, Agriculture, or a related field is considered an asset. Equivalent experience in a supervisory or operational role may be accepted in place of formal education.
Experience in coffee service and food/kitchen management, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting practices related to small business operations.
Valid Food Safe Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain).
Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a personal cell phone.
Comfortable working in compact kitchen environments and standing for long periods.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Proactive, self-motivated, and skilled, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
