POSITION SUMMARY
CanOps is hiring 911/Fire Calltakers for its new Provincial Emergency Communication Centre (PECC) South in Regina, offering a unique opportunity to join the founding team of a state-of-the‑art emergency communications facility. In this critical frontline role, employees serve as the first point of contact during emergencies, using solid communication, listening and decision‑making skills to gather information, provide reassurance and help coordinate emergency responses. The PECC currently handles 9-1-1 calls and fire/rescue dispatch services for communities and more than 365 fire departments across Saskatchewan. As operations expand over time, successful candidates will have opportunities to develop new skills, contribute to the growth of the centre,



and help shape the future of emergency communications in the province.

TRAINING
3 weeks of in-classroom training in Regina

8 to 12 weeks of on-the-floor training at our PECC North location near Prince Albert and PECC South location in Regina.

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent

Legally entitled to work in Canada

Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM

Clear Criminal Record Check

Certified Hearing Test

Ability to complete shift work, including a rotating shift schedule consisting of 12-hour shifts, both days and nights, including holidays and weekends

Successful completion of on-the-job training

WORKING CONDITIONS
Location: PECC South office in Regina

Schedule and hours of work: As per the Collective Bargaining Agreement between CanOps and Local 5094 of the International Association of Fire Fighters.

Physical Demands: This role requires extended periods of sitting and working in a high paced, focused, technology-driven communications centre environment.
