New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a SaaS Migration Project Manager to support our client with the migration of a business-critical enterprise application from an on-premises environment to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. The successful candidate will lead the planning and delivery of the migration while ensuring business continuity, user adoption, security and compliance, and long-term operational support.
Working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, SaaS vendors, implementation partners, and third-party service providers, the consultant will oversee the full migration lifecycle, including project planning, data migration, systems integration, testing, cutover, deployment, stabilization, organizational change management, and transition to operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive project plan for the migration of an existing enterprise application from an on-premises environment to a SaaS platform.
- Ensure project delivery aligns with business objectives, IT strategy, security policies, and organizational requirements.
- Define and manage project scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, budgets, resource requirements, and implementation activities.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, mitigation strategies, and competing priorities.
- Monitor project performance and proactively manage schedule, budget, scope, and delivery commitments.
- Establish and maintain project governance, reporting frameworks, escalation processes, and decision-making structures.
- Develop post-implementation support, stabilization, and operational-transition plans.
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, SaaS vendors, implementation partners, and third-party service providers.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, steering committees, project meetings, and decision-making sessions.
- Coordinate vendor activities and monitor vendor performance against contractual commitments and project deliverables.
- Lead organizational change-management activities, including communications, training, user adoption, and business-readiness planning.
- Oversee migration planning and execution, including environment readiness, data migration, testing, cutover, deployment, and stabilization.
- Coordinate integration planning and implementation involving cloud and on-premises systems.
- Assess existing application customizations, workflows, reports, and interfaces and support decisions regarding redesign, replacement, or retirement.
- Work with technical teams to validate integration approaches, API compatibility, solution architecture, and technical dependencies.
- Ensure security, privacy, compliance, and governance requirements are incorporated into project planning and execution.
- Oversee system testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Support production deployment, go-live readiness assessments, transition activities, and post-implementation stabilization.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams that may include business SMEs, operational leaders, solution architects, application analysts, system administrators, integration developers, database administrators, cybersecurity specialists, vendors, and PMO resources.
- These responsibilities reflect the client's emphasis on end-to-end project delivery, stakeholder/vendor management, and technical migration oversight.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience managing enterprise technology projects.
- Demonstrated experience delivering SaaS implementations, cloud transformation, ERP modernization,
or enterprise application migration initiatives.
- Strong experience managing multiple stakeholders across business and technology organizations.
- Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, cloud-delivered applications, and enterprise solution delivery.
- Experience overseeing data migration, systems integration, testing, deployment, cutover, and operational-transition activities.
- Experience managing implementation vendors, third-party consulting organizations, and external service providers.
- Knowledge of project governance, budgeting, resource planning, procurement, and contract management.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration technologies, APIs, cloud services, and modern application architectures.
- Experience working within a structured PMO environment and applying project-governance best practices.
- Experience applying Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project-delivery methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Strong ability to provide guidance regarding project delivery, risk management, issue resolution, and competing priorities.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and business information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating decision-making and leading cross-functional teams through complex organizational and technical change.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Experience within the public sector, municipal government, utilities, or a large enterprise setting is considered an asset.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Agile or Scrum certification is preferred.
- Prosci Change Management Certification is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, facilitation, stakeholder-management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
