Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, the role of the QC & Inventory Control Associate is responsible for the management of the cycle count program and QC processes. Additional responsibilities include support of Inbound/Outbound daily operations as well as QC &Inventory; Control Team Lead and QC Coordinator.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Post Secondary education preferred, High school diploma or equivalent required

Previous warehouse experience is preferred

Working knowledge of PICK (internal system) and location maintenance, utilizing RF system

Class 2 MHE Narrow Aisle certified an asset (Willing to train/in-house certification)

Must possess methodical problem-solving skills

Must demonstrate critical thinking abilities on a continuous basis

Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written

Detailed oriented and thrives for the highest level of accuracy





Ability to maneuver effectively and efficiently through all computer systems as trained

Ability to maintain and exceed warehouse accuracy and productivity standards

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, ie Outlook, Word, Excel

Possess Immaculate record keeping abilities

Experienced in general warehouse procedures

WORKING CONDITIONS

40 hours per week; occasional overtime required

Must wear CSA approved safety footwear with protective steel toes and other personal protective equipment as required for working within the warehouse environment

Able to work at heights of 20 plus ft on Narrow Aisle Order Picker

Able to sit and operate a computer for extended periods

Walking/standing for extended periods and able to lift and carry weight up to 50lbs

Repetitive bending, pulling, and stretching throughout the day

RESPONSIBILITIES

Consistently meet or exceed Department expectations for productivity levels as necessary

Responsible for resource planning as needed

Maintain a neat and tidy work environment

Responsible for meeting or exceeding established customer service objective standards

Must maintain an excellent attendance and punctuality record. Must be reliable and available at assigned shift and designated work area

Respond to emails in a timely fashion and all emails addressed by EODFollow procedures as outlined in QC training manuals and QC online resources

Lead team of warehouse associates in a quick-paced environment to achieve required objectives

Responsible to participate cross-training initiatives to ensure continued efficient operation of department

Ensure that warehouse is safe, secure, and complies with OHS regulations & enforce safety rules and regulations. Exhibit responsible and sound judgement to keep associates safe

Ensure effective management of inventory

Contribute to the creation, enforcement and updates of all QC and Inventory control SOPs

Make recommendations on process and personnel improvement opportunities

Ensure all operating equipment is maintained in working functional condition

Inspect incoming inbound shipments





Confirm specifications; conduct visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials

Complete all QC required documentation

Complete inspection on all QC special picks as the highest priority

Document inspection results and ensure all logs and reports are updated

Co-ordinate/assist in all QC projects with the Operations team. Responsible for tracking and progress reports as needed

Check files regularly to maintain up-to-date status

Inspect incoming QC returns

Plan and conduct cycle counts to meet established schedule and provide all required reports

Uploading for cycle counts

Responsible for the adjustment of cycle count results

Maintenance of cycle count book

Investigate and adjust inventory discrepancies

Generate cycle counts and coordinate physical counts with supervisors

Record and report on daily count statistics

Keep organize record of all count process and results for audit purposes

Ensure all counts are completed based on ABC analysis to meet all year end deadlines

Liaise with auditors on site and provide procedural explanations when requested

Liaise with Finance to understand best practices and auditor requirements

Assist with processing of customer returns

Monitor supply levels (bags, tape, etc.) and advise key personnel when low

Adhere to current and future company policies and standards to ensure a safe and agreeable working environment

Responsible for ensuring all policies are adhered to and must communicate any breach of policy to Human Resources or Senior Management

Assist in other areas of the warehouse and additional duties as required by management

Participates in general warehouse meetings & work in cooperation and communicate effectively with all levels of the SanMar Canada team

Support and respond to internal customer needs and requests in a timely manner

Work effectively and efficiently with little supervision

Keep co-workers informed of activities that have implications to their department
