Join Pacific Community Resources Society as a Family Counsellor, providing crucial support to families facing parent-teen conflicts. This full-time role offers flexible hours to meet families in need.
In this position, you will utilize evidence-based interventions and build strong relationships with families. Collaborating with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), your expertise will help de-escalate tensions and promote healthy communication. Your role will involve home visits, managing service plans, and facilitating group sessions as required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide advocacy and counselling using evidence-based approaches
• Develop tailored service plans for individual family needs
• Facilitate groups for participants and their families
• Liaise with social workers and other professionals
• Maintain accurate case files and documentation
Requirements:
• Experience in family systems and mediation
• Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed practices
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
• Robust communication and assessment skills
• Commitment to a culturally inclusive environment
Support families in creating positive relationships through effective counselling and intervention strategies.
