Join Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug as a relief caregiver, ensuring the safety and development of children in the Kanawendaakosowinik. This role emphasizes hands-on support and cultural education in a dynamic setting.
As a part-time Kanawendaakosowinik Caregiver at KIDO, you will provide essential support for awaashishag and oshkaadizag. Your responsibilities will include cooking, assisting with education, and fostering a secure environment grounded in KI traditions. This position allows for meaningful interaction with children, enhancing their life skills and cultural knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cook nutritious meals and teach cooking skills
• Keep all common areas clean and safe
• Supervise children during activities to ensure safety
• Follow and communicate established KIDO rules
• Participate in mandatory training and shift reporting
Requirements:
• Proven experience with vulnerable youth and families
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture and teachings
• First Aid and CRP certification
• Clean Ontario Driver’s Licence necessary
• Must pass a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
