We are currently recruiting Zoom Boom Operators to assist with rapid-paced, challenging concrete high-rise projects!
Main Functions To work in a team environment under the direction and guidance of the Foreman or Superintendent.
Operate a Zoomboom in accordance with OH & S legislation and company policies, while ensuring work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.
Duties Operate a Zoomboom
Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans, specifications and directions provided
Provide assistance to craft workers such as carpenters, concrete finishers
Participating in daily tool-box talks
Reviewing and preparing daily Field Level Hazard Assessments
Participating in weekly safety meetings




Ensuring proper Personal Protective Equipment is used for all tasks
Advising supervision of unsafe conditions or acts that may be a hazard or danger to self and other workers
Ensuring work areas are kept clean and free of hazards
Ensuring tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs
Reporting all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damage/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents
Reviewing and participating in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required
Other tasks and duties as required on the jobsite
Working Conditions Work weeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday, 9 hours per day 44 hours per week regular plus overtime as required, including work on Saturdays as required by sites
Work day starts at 07:00am
Two paid 15 minutes breaks and one ½ hour unpaid lunch break per day
Exposure to cold/hot weather. Appropriate dress required for weather conditions
Exposure to noise, dust, pollution
Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, sharp hand tools
Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time
Manual dexterity
Ability to lift between 11 and 25 kg
Competencies Ability to solve arithmetic problems quickly and accurately
Ability to get along well with others in a team environment
Positive attitude towards safety
Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
Punctual and reliable
Ability to cooperate well with others
Willingness to learn
