Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Director works closely with the Director in supervising the daily running of the Ski & Snowboard School. This position plays a key role in operating an efficient, organized and profitable department. The Assistant Director is the liaison between Lead Hands, Front Desk and School groups.
The Assistant Director will primarily act as the School Group coordinator to liaise with local schools and youth groups in organizing and implementing single and multi-day excursions throughout the season. This will involve everything concerning school groups – booking dates, collecting forms, and overseeing their daily visits.
The Assistant Director will assist the Director in managing daily operations, overseeing reservations, lessons and organization of staff and volunteers. They must have extensive experience in snowsports programs to ensure lesson quality standards. The Assistant Director is also responsible for helping train lead hands, front desk staff as well as instructors at the start of the season. They may also have duties related to growing the snowsports marketing plan, in addition to understanding the budgeting of the department.
This position will be full-time, from late October to mid-April and will include weekends and holidays.
Qualifications & Experience Minimum 3-5 years of instructional or supervisory experience in a snowsports school environment
Hold CASI,
CSIA or equivalent qualifications Level 2 or higher
Experience in hospitality and reservations, with a strong understanding of snowschool operations and instructional standards
Ability to work under pressure and act as a leader in a energetic, outdoor environment
Sales and marketing and budgeting background an asset
Higher Education or certificates in recreation, sports or fitness an asset
Successful candidates must: Have extremely strong communication and organizational skills
Computer Skills: proficient using Word, Excel & reservation software
Be responsible, hard working and have an extremely high attention to detail
Experience with group management, staff training and development
Be capable of multi-tasking and working in a high-pressure environment
Have exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to unexpected changes
Be polite, patient, understanding and have a positive attitude
Term This is a full-time, temporary seasonal position.
Start date: late October 2026
End Date: April 2027
Wages and Benefits The wage range for this position will be $24.00-$26.00 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.
Additional benefits include a uniform, seasons pass, discounts on food, beverage and retail, and a reciprocal pass program with other mountain resorts.
