Duties & Responsibilities:
Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences.
Lead, coach and train the Bakery team to ensure a productive, positive and customer-focused environment.
Oversee ordering, inventory, merchandising, and shrink control.
Ensure compliance with Food Safety regulations, sanitation standards, department cleanliness, and equipment maintenance.
Monitor and meet department goals related to sales and margin through effective planning and execution.
Promote and model safe food handling practices and workplace cleanliness.
Provide training, coaching, and performance management to team members while supporting their development and growth.
Lead planning, goal setting, budgeting, and talent management processes.
Manage scheduling and daily administrative tasks.
Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operatives vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
You have at least 3 years of experience in bakery or retail management, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Red Seal Baker certification is considered a strong asset.
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate teams.
You have knowledge of bakery operations, merchandising, inventory control and food safety.
A solid understanding of computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to shifting priorities
