Join Dze L K'ant Friendship Centre Society as a Cook in Houston, British Columbia. Play a vital role in preparing nutritious meals for children in a culturally safe workplace.
As a dedicated Cook, you will support the Friendship Centre Cub House's mission of promoting health and wellness through food. You'll plan and prepare meals according to childcare nutrition standards, accommodate allergies, and incorporate Indigenous foods when appropriate. Your organizational skills will be key in managing inventory, food purchasing, and maintaining safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals in line with standards
• Order food supplies and manage inventory within budget
• Maintain strict compliance with health and safety regulations
• Support cultural events with meal preparation
• Ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen environment
Requirements:
• Food Safe Level 1 Certification is mandatory
• Experience in a childcare or community setting
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Medical Clearance required
• Knowledge of Indigenous nutrition is preferred
