The Forager is not an ordinary restaurant—and this is not an ordinary serving position. Located at Cliffs Edge Retreat on Newfoundland’s Southern Shore, The Forager is part of a growing, year-round tourism destination built around exceptional food, genuine Newfoundland hospitality and unforgettable coastal experiences.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Server / Front-of-House Supervisor who wants to help us build one of Newfoundland’s most memorable dining experiences.

The right person will be an accomplished server, a calm and confident leader, and someone who understands that outstanding hospitality is about far more than delivering food. It is about reading the room, anticipating guests’ needs, supporting the team and making every person feel genuinely welcomed.

The Opportunity
You will take an active leadership role on the dining‑room floor while continuing to provide excellent hands‑on service. Working closely with our culinary and management teams, you will help establish the standards, consistency and atmosphere that define The Forager.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to help shape a growing restaurant and tourism destination—not simply step into an established routine.

Your Responsibilities

Lead the front-of-house team during service

Deliver polished, warm and attentive guest service

Set a strong example for servers and support staff

Coordinate the dining room with the kitchen to maintain smooth service

Assign sections and oversee opening, closing and side duties

Train, coach and support front‑of‑house employees

Handle guest concerns professionally and confidently

Maintain high standards for presentation, cleanliness and organization

Help improve service procedures, team communication and the overall guest experience





Support special events, retreats, group dinners and tourism experiences

Develop strong knowledge of our menu, local ingredients, beverages and surrounding destination

Who We Are Looking For
You May Be The Right Person If You

Have significant experience as a senior server, lead server, captain or front-of-house supervisor

Know how to lead a busy service without losing your composure

Take genuine pride in hospitality and attention to detail

Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests, coworkers and kitchen staff

Are comfortable coaching others and holding the team to a high standard

Can solve problems independently and make sound decisions during service

Are dependable, organized and willing to take ownership

Want to contribute ideas and help build something exceptional

Are available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required by the hospitality industry

Have reliable transportation to Bauline South

Experience in a destination restaurant, boutique hotel, resort or upscale casual dining environment would be an asset.
