As a Primary Counsellor, you will report to the Client Services Manager and directly engage with clients to establish goals, monitor their progress, and create discharge plans. Your counseling skills will be vital in providing crisis intervention and motivational support in both individual and group settings. This role also involves coordinating with internal and external resources essential for client recovery and everyday needs, aligning with The Salvation Army’s mission of service and dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions
• Maintain and update client documentation
• Present case reports during planning meetings
• Facilitate groups and encourage client participation
• Liaise with community agencies and services
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or equivalent experience
• Skills in crisis intervention and assessment
• Solid communication and organizational abilities
• Experience with community resources and anti-oppression policies
• Valid Class 'G' Driver's License, WHMIS, and First Aid certifications
