This contract position allows you to connect with students at Grandview Elementary and Britannia Community Centre, focusing on interactive, land-based learning. You'll collaborate with an Indigenous Gardener, ensuring cultural knowledge is integrated within gardening activities. Key Responsibilities:
• Develop interactive garden curriculum with educators and Indigenous Gardener
• Facilitate student-led lessons and hands-on salad bar sessions
• Support ecological and cultural knowledge sharing in gardens
• Care for and maintain community food growing spaces
• Build relationships with diverse students using adaptable teaching methods
Requirements:
• Experience with students from kindergarten to grade 12
• Basic training in horticulture preferred
• Knowledge of organic gardening practices
• Understanding of Indigenous cultures and current issues
• Solid communication skills and criminal record check
